Moore Mini Grammar Lesson - Past Tense Continuous

I tried to post the power point to the forums but discovered that the size of the file was 115 MB. I tried to email the file, but it was too big. I tried to add the file to slideshare....they told me it was too big. So I deleted a few slides and got the size down to 92.5 MB. I was able to save it to slideshare but now I don't hear me talking....ugh! I am still posting it for now but am trying to figure out the detail. Sorry!

Hope you enjoy the slides :) You might have to copy the address and open a new window.
Thanks,
~Elizabeth

  1. I liked that you connected the beginning video with the end activity. I would assume this would be for older students because there was a lot of information on the slides. I am very visual, but at times I was overwhelmed with the information on one slide. You could just add more slides and lessen the information on some of the slides.

  2. Thanks TeacherNietz. I usually don't have so many words on my power point slides. I figure if I am just going to read off of them that I shouldn't be presenting it to you. I should just let you read them. :) I thought this lesson was different and that was part of the actually lesson was to present a lesson through the power point. I was having trouble with the size of the document already so I had to combine a few slides to get it to even post. I love technology but not when it won't do what I want it too. LOL Thanks for the comments and I did mention on the news forum post that this would be for advanced students in ESL just because past tense continuous is a higher level skill anyways. Have a good week!

  3. I couldn't hear the lesson, but I looked at all of your slides. I think the timelines will be very helpful to students. It may be good to connect the activities to people they actually know. For instance, what was I doing at 4:00 yesterday and see what they hypothesize. This can practice the skill plus also make it fun!

  5. I agree with what someone mentioned above. I though you did a great job with the your explanation and the activities for each slide, but some were a bit overwhelming with a lot of information. It would probably be more comprehensible if there was less information on each slide as to not overload the students.

  6. I really liked the activty exercises and the game at the end. The listening activity with the video was another great idea for this lesson. Some of the slides, as many have mentioned are a bit crowded also some colors on a whit background are difficult to see. especially, yellow. Perhaps a more off white color or a darked color for some of the backgrounds would be better. Overall I really enjoyed your lesson and you shared with us some good activity ideas.
